Whew! What a week it’s been and how I have seen over and over again the power that comes when people are united. The truth is one we’ve heard many times. “Untied we stand, divided we fall.” This reigns true no matter what the situation. Today I share a peek into my life over the last week to share with you how so very true it is… and to show how it’s true no matter what the situation.
Recently, I attended an author’s intensive, hosted by Steve and Bill Harrison. Picture this: forty to sixty or so authors together in one room, all passionate about their message. Each author as different from the other as day and night, egos flying due to the focus of the event to gain maximum publicity for our books, every author is dead set certain that their information will change the world. No two people had the exact same viewpoint about life, let alone the same perspective. Yet, there was an amazing unity.
One person had enormous success with radio shows. Another had done very well on the internet. Yet another has already authored many works. Still another has a cult-like following for his work. And each one was more than happy to help the other. It was unspoken, but everyone knew it. We’re all here because we invested a good deal of time, money and energy to be here. The thought was something like this, “I know how passionate I am about my book and therefore I appreciate how passionate you are about yours. I will do everything within my power to help you achieve your goals.”
If you’ve read any of the peeks into my life that I share you know that I am a major fan of mastermind groups. I believe in the Napoleon Hill’s so, so much! The reason is it works! And, as you know, I have been in many of these groups. This one surpassed all the others. I went away for the weekend and when I returned my inbox was loaded with words of support, knowledge and encouragement from this group. Our views are vast and opinions different. Not everyone necessarily agrees with the other, but all exist to support the other. Unity doesn’t come from always agreeing with one another. It comes from always honoring one another. Best sellers will be the result in this case.
My husband and I have raised a family of 5 children together. That produces many challenges on a normal basis, and our family was inherited (some call it a step-family) so it brought with it its own unique challenges. Did we always agree? No way. But we always sought to understand where the other one was coming from. Sometimes we came to agree, but always we came to understand. Unity is what resulted. Raising two sets of children from two different families is tough, and there can be painful moments. But I can tell you without hesitation that my husband and stand united in our decisions and a loving family has been the result.
Our coaching certification is about ready to roll out. For many years now I knew the purpose of this company was far, far greater than just to help people lose weight. After all, there are 12 core areas in life and physical is only one of them. We’ve been working diligently in our home office location, implementing the Total Life Success Coaching program, creating the sales funnel and building the marketing, sales and service models. I’ve been meeting regularly with the two main folks involved and while we all have other things we’re responsible for when we meet for this purpose we stand united on one key fact. There are 12 core areas in life and our mission is to bless every single one of them for the people we get to help. Global Total Life Success coaching will be the result here. We are creating, even as I type this, the model to equip you to coach. Is that your calling? If you’d like to be a certified Total Life Success coach simply email info@donnakrech.com for more information. The reason this will work and there will enormous success related with it is one word… unity. People who come together with the intense purpose of helping others achieve goals and defeat obstacles are in battle together, overcoming an enemy… this is unity! When differences are set aside for a common goal, that is unity.
John and I went to New York City this weekend. I love the energy of that city! (ok, I love the shopping, the walking and Broadway too :>) We take these little get-aways to re-establish our unity. I can’t stress this enough. It doesn’t matter where you go. In years past we’d run away to my brother’s boat or my mom’s house. It doesn’t have to coast money, but you do need to get away from your day-to-day routine in order to get reacquainted with someone. This could be a life partner or a co-worker or a friend. The result of reconnecting is unity. I fell in love with this man all over again. I just keep falling in love with him as we discuss our dreams and plans, the troubles we encounter along the way and the awesome God we serve who always sees us through. Now those are topics that create unity.
Now here’s a unity idea every person reading this will love. It’s about CHOCOLATE!! Yep, chocolate. Now there’s a word that will unite nearly everyone in the world. And Max Brenner believed so much in the power of that unity that he built a business around it. A chocolate business! At 841 Broadway, in the Big Apple, between 13th and 14th streets we found chocolate heaven! Chocolate appetizers, chocolate drinks, chocolate soup, desserts, and more! I sat there watching the young lovers sitting across from us and it hit me. There is an unspoken unity here. The patrons all love chocolate as do the servers. They all know everything about everything on the menu. And there was an atmosphere of love and happiness in the air. You do know that biochemically chocolate produces the same result in the brain as love, right? Here’s a man who took something he knew was unity based (multiple people were passionate about it) and built an empire around it. Discover what you and yours are all passionate about and just watch your unity be as contagious as the unity at Max Brenner’s Chocolatier.
I can’t stress the value of unity enough. I’ve built several companies on this philosophy and watched their strength suffer if the unity dwindled. With unity wars are one and lives saved. With unity churches grow and families thrive. With unity companies prosper and hope is multiplied.
Creating unity is simpler than you might think. Just come up with what matters in life to your organization and then what the organization is passionate about as whole. In our company the one thing that matters in life more than anything is honoring God. We do what’s right, no matter what; we honor Him and therefore honor each other. Does is happen 100% of the time? No, but it’s a perfect barometer to let us know how we’re doing so we can get back on track. Second we tap into the fact that we are a people passionate about helping others achieve their goals in life. Voila!!! UNITY!!! Remember, the more you’re around people of like mind, the bigger the power of your unity becomes.
