Not staying focused on the goal is the number one motivation assassinator. And it’s also the one that will keep all the others powerless, if you just maintain that focus. Remember why you want to do what you want to do. Life’s short and you don’t want to miss a minute of it.

The second motivation assassinator is the negative belief system. Saying things like “This will never work, I can’t do this, I’ve failed again.” That motivation assassinator is the biggest liar of all the assassinators. It’s not true. You might just need a little help from a coach or a program or a counselor or a consultant. Get out there and get that help. Get a buddy working toward a goal with you.

The third motivation assassinator is a series of bad habits. When we make poor choices instead of wise ones, it’s just habit much of the time, and we can change those habits.

Identify that motivation assassinator called habit when he starts showing up and execute him by making the right choice.

The fourth motivation assassinator is the emotional reaction. Boredom, depression, stress, anxiety; they’re reactions. Once you identify that motivation assassinator, you can then overcome him. Take a breath, and then start pouring into your mind alternative ways of responding vs. reacting.

The fifth motivation assassinator is your social influence. Don’t let people tell you that you shouldn’t be achieving the goal. Have your goal so very clear in your mind that you know what it is you want to accomplish.

And then the last motivation assassinator, the most popular one in the 21st century is time management, busy-ness, procrastination, too much in the day, too much on the plate. When you identify that’s the guy that’s coming after you, you can execute him by continuing to immerse yourself in the types of information that we provide along with many other great teachers.
