One of the easiest forms of marketing is referrals. What’s your mindset when you think about “buddies”?

We’ve heard a lot of different stuff in our own company:

1. I am asking for leads when I ask for buddies and it makes me uncomfortable.

2. People in “my town” don’t give me buddies.

3. I, myself, would NEVER give out any names and numbers of people I know.

4. I wait to ask for buddies until they’ve been a customer for awhile because they won’t give buddies until they see results themselves.

And any number of other interesting responses…

We teach about your “fist” factor. Think about the 5 people in your life that influence you the most. It may be a parent, a good friend, your spouse, a sibling, etc. Take a moment and

consider who your top 5 are. How many of them want the benefits of what you offer?

Now, let’s think of our customers. How many people in their fist factor want the benefits of what you offer? If we want to change our customer’s lives for the better, we have to help change their environments. If we truly are about helping our members make permanent positive changes, buddies will play a big part in changing their environment!

When someone says, “I would NEVER give out a name and a number of a friend, so I don’t ask for buddies,” we say, “God has given us this gift of a product, program or service in order to touch lives. It is an honor, a privilege and our RESPONSIBILITY to step up to the plate!”

Work on your referral presentation which will allow you to be comfortable getting buddies, because you might be your customer’s only hope.

At the risk of sounded pointed… “This is NOT about you! Figure out how to get over your own fears because there are lives to touch!”
