Over the last few years, we’ve heard over and over how Social Media is transforming the way we interact and communicate with one another. With more than 1 BILLION Facebook users alone, it’s likely that nearly everyone reading this article uses it themselves. It’s also just as likely that your customers and prospects are also using Social Media. So the question becomes, how can we use this massive, increasingly popular new medium to market our business and increase sales? Well my friends, I’ve figured out how to DOUBLE your success and TRIPLE your marketing response using social media, and I’m revealing how I did it, and how you can too!
No matter whether you’re a novice, or a Social Media junkie, you can apply the same system I’m sharing to your business. And, it is going to blow your mind how simple this is so simple.
I decided to start doing a little experiment using Social Media… Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, etc. We are all using it, right? Whether we own a business or not, we are all using it. So I decided to do a business experiment using social media.
I can take a person with any passion and I can show them how to make more money with it. It doesn’t matter what their passion is. So I decided to go see how many people out there had passion. I decided to get to know my social media friends, because they are my prospects. Do you know that all your friends on social media are your prospects? It might be obvious but it might not be obvious, so I’ll say it. All your friends are your prospects.
Now this is what I wrote on Facebook. This is not what you are going to write, because this is not relative to your life. I will help you with what you are going to write in a second. I simply wrote, “Click ‘like’ if you love four-legged children, aka dogs”. Then another one was, “Click ‘like’ if you love to dance,” another one was, “Click ‘like’ if you love motorcycles.” I know those are three passions; dogs are a passion, dancing is a passion and motorcycles are a passion.
I don’t even ride motorcycles. My daughter does, and my best friend and manger of one of my companies does, and I am like, “Oh Lord Jesus, keep them safe.” When my friend saw my post, she wrote, “All I can say is fun!” That was her response. But I was just throwing different things out there to see what people would like.
Just in case you are curious, dogs blew everything else away. Dance came in second. Motorcycles it was strong but not as strong, even though those are a passionate group of people. Maybe I just don’t have as many motorcycle riders on my friends list.
I had over 100 people tell me they had a passion for this specific thing they liked. That is over 100 prospects for me for my Purpose Led Profit program and coaching, because I can go those people who have this passion and say, “I can show you how to make money on dogs, on dance, on motorcycles.” That is what I have been up to with social media.
Now let me tell you how we can do this with your business. Right now, list everything individually that your business offers. For example, in our Total Solution business, we offer life coaching. Some of the benefits of that have been members making more money, getting promotions at work, beating depression and fixing relationships. So I want you to list the feature that you offer in your business. Other features we have are weight loss, personal training, we sell group fitness, Pink Gloves Boxing. List the things that your business sells.
Now, beside those features, make a list of the benefits your customers receive from those features. We’re not going to post our features on Facebook and expect much response. We need to show the benefits.
Another feature we offer is nutritional supplements. But I am not going to post, “Click ‘like’ if you want to buy some supplements,” because there is not going to be a lot of action there. However, I could say, “Click ‘like’ if you would like your energy level to double this month.” That’s a benefit, not a feature.
We sell life coaching, but I wouldn’t go to social media and go, “Click ‘like’ if you like life coaching,” because nobody is going to click ‘like’. I would go to social media and say, “Click ‘like’ if you like to find more time every day,” or, “Click ‘like’ if you feel like you are running in circles and you are tired of it.” These are benefits.
Weight loss; let’s talk about that one. We wouldn’t put, “Click ‘like’ if you feel like you are overweight.” We would put, “Click ‘like’ if you want a tight little tummy this summer.” You are looking for the ‘likes’.
What do all those ‘likes’ represent? Those ‘likes’ represent an emotional connection, they represent you achieving your dream, and they also represent your customer achieving their dream, which represents money for you.
If you are in the business of sales, and we all are, these social media friends are your prospects. When they click ‘like’ based on what you are writing, here is what is happening… They are saying, “Hello, it’s me, I have my hand in the air, please call me!” And they are your friends, so you can call them because you have their contact information.
If you start implementing this, you are going to triple your marketing response without spending any money. Let’s recap.

#2. List your Benefits
What benefit do your customers get from using your products or services? Think emotionally. How does it make them feel?
It is too simple; don’t complicate it. It is simple. Success is simple.

Then you can invite your prospect to be my friend too, and you can even tag me on your posts, and we’ll get a dialogue going about your ‘likes’. Then your prospect is going to see that and they are going to go, “Oh my gosh, these guys actually know how to make my tummy flat in the summer!” It is too easy to market and sell this way, and it can be tweaked slightly for any social media.
