I just read about a carwash that did a test for its loyalty rewards program. It offered one group of customers a card that provided a free wash after eight washes. To a second group, it offered a free carwash after 10 washes, BUT it gave two complimentary stamps when the card was issued. The second group bought more, came more often and gave better reviews of the business. Both groups had to purchase eight washes. Why do you think the second group responded better?

Are we LISTENING to our customers?! They tell us through conversation, responses to our inquiries for input, and in their buying habits, what they want. Are YOU listening to your customer?

Do you REALLY know your customers… I mean REALLY know them, their wants, needs, fears, desires? Remember this very powerful thought… get to know your customers.

The conundrum in business is that every business needs to sell, but no person wants to be sold to. Success happens when we master the art of customer-focused promotions. Don’t let anyone EVER tell you that selling is anything other than a wonderful thing to be a part of!

When you believe what you are offering truly helps someone, and you are passionate about helping others, you can’t NOT sell… that would be withholding a solution, and that would be hurting the other person. I learned it from my mom, the best sales person ever…selling is serving, my friends. Sell your awesome solution.

Stop freaking out over the lie that marketing is tough to get a response to and that money is hard to make! Neither is true of you own/manage a business, are in marketing or sales or are rewarded on an escalating scale at work.

If you offer something people want, that will help them, and you communicate that effectively, and provide a way for them to learn about it in a way that’s comfortable for them…they will check it out. That’s marketing success.

For the best response to your message, promote the value and the relationship… not the sale. An offer is GREAT, but the message of what’s in it for the prospect is what will win you a lifetime customer. Tell them how much you care about them.

If you then offer your product or service to them containing massive value, at a price that makes the value a GREAT return… they will purchase it. That’s money success.

If you doubled your business in the next 90 days, could you handle it? This is a GREAT question for creating open, honest discussions with business partners, team members, or yourself… plus it creates some real juice for projecting what’s possible!
